Case Study: In re Conduct of Conry

This case study focuses on the conduct of an attorney who responded to negative reviews of his services on social media. He was accused of revealing client confidences in the responses. He argued that the information he revealed was public anyway, that the revelation was in "self-defense" and that is was protected by the First Amendment's "freedom of speech" provision.

This case study goes through the court's handling of these issues and how it carefully considered and determined the sanction to apply.
