Case study: ITT Engineered Valves, LLC v. United Steel

This case study focuses on the extent, interpretation and enforceability of an arbitration clause negotiated by a steel workers union and an employer. A union member was fired for bad behavior towards the superior in a fight about masking during the COVID-19 pandemic. The court had to analyze whether the termination was allowed by the collective bargaining agreement and was justified by the circumstances, under its terms.
